BE FAST algorithm helps identify persons having an acute stroke.
B – Balance: Is the person losing his balance and coordination?
E – Eyes: Is the person having trouble seeing or losing his vision?
F – Face: Does one side of the face droop while smiling?
A – Arms: Does one arm drift downward when the person raises both arms?
S – Speech: Is the speech getting slurred or strange while speaking?
T – Time: If you observe any of these signs, consult the doctor immediately.
Be Healthy & Carefully, BE-FAST
Be prepared and BEFAST if you acknowledge the indications of a stroke. Take a minute to remember the acronym so you can act quickly. Time saves the brain, and fast response saves thousands of lives and prevents disability. That’s the kind of statistic we can all believe.
